Jeff Ryan LPC,CSAC and Steve Sawyer LCSW, CSAC will guide you through expanding your brainspotting skillsets to include:

 

Z-Axis – Introduction to near and far work along with including Vergence Therapy that expands Z-Axis work

Rolling Brainspotting – Expanding upon Outside Window technique to add slow eye tracking to different eye position

One eye – Hone in on one eye to focus or reduce the activation for more controlled brainspotting

Outside/Inside Window – Combine core Brainspotting strategies to use the best of both approaches

One eye with Z-Axis – The most resourced approach to Brainspotting will increase your skills working with more complex cases

Advance Resource Model – Improves skills with working with dissociative disorders, attachment disorders and the most complicated struggles that present with clients

 

Phase 2 techniques will equip you to work with even more complex cases and unlock the hidden reservoirs of healing within your clients. Elevate your career, expand your therapeutic toolkit, and make a lasting impact on those you serve.

 

Must have completed BSP Phase 1 to attend.

 

Learning Objectives:

 

1. Define the components of Brainspotting

 

2. Demonstrate and utilize the core components of Brainspotting:

    • Z-axis

    • Rolling Brainspotting

    • Inside Window/Outside Window

    • One eye Brainspotting

    • One eye with Z-Axis Brainspotting

    • Vergence

3. Expand how Brainspotting can be applied to:

    • Trauma

    • Dissociation

    • Somatic Conditions

    • Broad range of Psychological Conditions

 

4. Explain and expand understanding of the theory and core concepts of Brainspotting including:

    • Where you look affects how you feel

    • Dual Attunement frame

    • Uncertainty principle

    • WAIT

    • Staying in the “Tail of the Comet”

5. Continue to discuss and expand understanding of limbic countertransference

6. Summarize the research that supports the hypothezied way in which eye positions activate midbrain activity

7. Discuss effective ways to apply Brainspotting in various practice settings along with various populations

8. Increase assessment with using Brainspotting with more complex clients and cases

9. Expand understanding of brain process to include the role of the allocortex and isocortex

10. Provide a diverse, supportive and collaborative learning environment
